9. Cure/Wash process
In the context of SLA (Stereolithography) 3D printing, the terms "cure" and "wash" refer to the post-processing steps for the printed object.
"Wash" (model cleaning) is the process that follows the printing. The object is placed in a container with a special solvent that removes unused photopolymer residues from the object's surface. This step is crucial for achieving a smooth and clean appearance of the printed model.
"Cure" (post-curing) is a procedure in which the printed object is exposed to light, commonly UV light, to enhance its strength and hardness. Through this process, the layer of photopolymer used in SLA printing solidifies and acquires the desired physical properties.
Both of these processes, "cure" and "wash," are integral parts of the post-processing procedure for printed models in SLA printing.
In the market, various types of products (such as Anycubic Wash&Cure) are available that can be purchased alongside an SLA printer.
